Suicide/1st Album (1977)収録の"Frankie Teardrop"は、貧しい工場勤務の男（20歳）が妻と子を殺し自らも命を断つというスケアリーな内容だが、Lydia Lunchによる同曲は其れと同じ暗黒ヴァイヴを持つカバーらしからぬ出来。

"The Detective Meets The Space Alien"とタイトルを追加された"1976 Demo"は、歌詞も併せて変更されている。

また"Fine Time 2 ～A Tribute to New Wave"収録の"ゆらゆら帝国"による同曲は日本語化で怪談的内容にｗ。

"The Alan Vega 70th Birthday Limited Edition EP Series"第一弾は、意外にもBruce Springsteenによるカバーだが、アルバム"Nebraska"の"State Trooper"は彼らの影響から作られたらしい。本盤での収録のように2005年のツアー"Devils & Dust Tour"のラストは此の曲だった様だ。

B2の"Beat The Devil"はNYのバンド。Alan Vegaのお気に入りなのか今回の収録に至る。

通算3枚目のアルバム（ROIRカセットと限定版を除く）は幾分華やかだった前作に比べて再度1stに立ち返った様な印象。其の1stアルバムは1977年リリースだが、何と1970年から現在まで活動している彼ら（Wiki調べ）。Martin Revは不明だが、Alan Vegaは御年73歳。此の頃は50歳だったはずで全身全霊を込めて尊敬に値する。3年前にはAlanの70歳を祝って "Blast First Petite (UK)"より、Bruce Springsteen、Lydia Lunchなど様々なミュージシャンに彼らの楽曲がカバーされた10" EPがシリーズでリリースされた。近々アップの予定。

ジャケットは一見ライヴの様だがスタジオ盤。有名なNYのMax's kansas Cityの常連バンドのサンプラーといった感があるが、今となっては歴史的考察に価値のある内容である。とは言え現在、聴くに値するモノは「Pere Ubu」と「Suicide」辺りか。此れは日本盤なのだが、付属のライナーに掲載のレコーディングデータによると、当時「Suicide」はRamonesよろしく、Alan Suicide - Vocals、 Marty Suicide - Keyboards + Electronicsとあるのが興味深い。以下水上はる子氏ライナーより一部抜粋（1977年）。

『〜このユニオン・スクエアの南の端のコーナーがマクシス・カンサス・シティだ。あのヴェルヴェット・アンダーグラウンドのライヴアルバムのジャケット写真で見たことがある看板が出ている。一階はガラス張りのレストラン・バーだ。出される料理はおせじにも美味しいとは言えず、お値段の方もなかなかのレストランだが、常に満員の盛況なのは、ここがニューヨークの前衛的急進的文化人のサロンとして利用されているからだろう。この数年こそアシュトレイズ・レストランにお株を奪われたが、1960年代ここに出入りした人たちの名前は、そのままニューヨーク文化人フーズ・フーであった。一昨年、経営者が替わり一時的に閉鎖されたが、それでもニューヨーク在住のロックミュージシャンや、公演でニューヨークにやってきたロックミュージシャンが必ず訪れるレストランとして、世界のロックファンにその名前を知られている。〜2階は客席150という小さなライヴスポットだヴェルヴェット・アンダーグラウンドもまた、ここから巣立った。一週間のうち3日ずつぐらいバンドが出演する。ジャニス・イアンも、エアロスミスも、ニューヨーク・ドールズも、その最初はこのマクシス・カンサス・シティーから始まった。CBGB→マクシス・カンサス・シティ→ボトム・ライン→アカデミー・オブ・ミュージック（現在はパラディアムと変わった）→マジソン・スクエア・ガーデンというのがニューヨーク周辺のロックバンドの出世コースである。〜だが中には永久にマクシス・カンサス・シティから出ようとしないニューヨークバンドも多い。パラディアムとかマジソン・スクエア・ガーデンへ出演することなど、最初から全く考えてもいないロックバンドが、現在のニューヨーク・ロックシーンにひしめいている。

　1974年、それまでは「CBGB」や「クラブ82」に出演していたテレビジョンが初めてパティ・スミスの前座としてマクシス・カンサス・シティに出演した。まだパンクロックという言葉を知らなかった頃だ。ニューヨークのロック・ジャーナリズムは、ヴェルヴェット・アンダーグラウンドとドアーズとローリング・ストーンズを足した様な新しいユニークなサウンドに驚いたが、これがきっかけとなり、次から次へとニューヨーク・アンダーグラウンドバンドが名乗りを上げるとは夢にも思わなかったろう。

　テレビジョンの伝説的な人気を追うように、ラモーンズ、トーキング・ヘッズ、ハートブレイカーズ、タフ・ダーツ、ミンク・デビルといった奇妙な名前を持つグループが次々にデビューし、1975年のニューヨーク・ロックシーンはまさにパンクロック一色に染め上げられた。しかし彼らはスターを目指しながらも決してマジソン・スクエア・ガーデンのスターになろうとはせず、ニューヨークのダウンタウンの小さなクラブで生きることを潔しとした。』
