1982年のリリース以来、Touchこそが唯一オーディオビジュアルとして成功したレーベルだろう。音楽（または音響）とアートをコンパイルしたそれは、当時のオレにとって教科書そのものだった。

本アルバムはカセットテープと共に、A5サイズ32ページのブックレットがプラスティックバッグに封入されていた。ブックレットはDavid Tibet（The Temple Ov Psychick Youth）、Gary Panter、他によるテキストに、Neville Brody、Malcolm Garrett、Hipgnosis、他、今では著名なグラフィックデザイナーによるアートワーク、といった内容。

特筆すべきは、Factory "Hacienda"オープンに際して作られたNew Order "Video 586"のオリジナル・バージョン。そのフルバージョンがAB面に分けられているが、1997年に12"とCDにてTouchからリリースされた。"Blue Monday"の原型であるこの曲は、1983年に彼らの2ndでも聴けるが、生々しい閉塞感がぎこちなく躍動するこのバージョンには及ばない。

英Leicester出身のシンガーソングライター。此れが初のシングルリリースで、FactoryオーナーAnthony H. Wilson (a.k.a. Tony Wilson) とDonald Johnson (A Certain Ratio) がプロデュースを行っている。1980年クレプスキュール発"From Brussels With Love"収録の"Haystack"では、Joy DivisionからNew Orderになる前の彼らが演奏していた。本盤はアシッド・フォークの様相で非常に良い。

両面に穴がカットされているスリーヴデザインは、次に紹介する"Its Hard To Be An Egg / John Dowie (1981)"同様、Martyn Atkins。

2003年5月13日〜9月14日、Design Museum（London）にて行われたPeter Savilleの個展の為にリリースされた3000枚限定CD。「The Peter Saville Show」は、Factory Recordsでのキャリアを始めとする数々のカバーデザインと近年の仕事を含めた、言わば回顧展であったが、現在はグラフィックデザインから意識的に離れた活動をしているらしい。若い頃から彼の仕事及び哲学に多大なる影響を受けた者として、此の事は至極当然の事だがやはり、彼の居るべき場所は現代美術などでは無く、グラフィックデザインを守護霊としながら、サブカルチャーを背景にしたクラシックとモダンへの自由なアプローチに他ならない。

恐らく此れが最初で最後であろうKeith HudsonのReggaeで始まり（Ian Curtis' favourite song）、ピアノが珍しい次曲と彼ららしからぬ1枚。加えてSide Bは一転してエレクトリックサウンドへ向かおうとしている彼らの姿が垣間みれて興味深い。B2 "5-8-6"は此れや此れを経てこのPeel Sessionで録音され、2nd Album収録のバージョンで完成となり、その後"Blue Monday"となる。このEPリリース後、人気を博したThe Peel Sessionシリーズの1枚目。

調子の悪かったMacBookが、システムの入れ替えでようやく復活。

400 Blows のレーベル "Concrete Production" からシリーズ第１弾。確認したところでは Vol.8 まで概発。1980年リリースの James Brown "Soul Syndrome" のジャケットから抜粋された文句が微笑ましい。当時 Colorbox がお気に入りだったのと、New Order の未発表曲で購入。

美麗なパッケージを施されたNew WaveあるいはPost Punkなコンピレーション。

聴きすぎたのか、テープが切れて補修した事で両面各１曲が損傷しているのが申し訳ない。

おまけにテープのねじれで、全体的に歪んでいる事も合わせて申し訳ない。

しかし、微妙に豪華なこの面子。何曲かはCD化済みだが、James、New Orderは未発表。その他コレでしか知らないアーティストのイイ曲もあったりする。結構なボリュームなので、AB面を分けてアップ。
