”Plastic Ono Band”を従えてのソロ1st。当然Johnも参加しているが彼女主導での制作だ。ジャケットの表裏共に”ジョンの魂”と対を成す本盤を聴いたのは、ノイズとフリージャズに傾倒していた1982年頃だったが"No New York"を連想させる、というか其のまんまの内容で大変驚く。其の後彼女のソロ作品と数多くのフリージャズを聴いたが、ロックの文脈で優れた前衛と呼べる数少ない作品の一つである。ロックファンに彼女が嫌われる理由は古いロックのセオリーの範疇外であったからだが、Post Punk以降、容認された後でも受難が続いた事は、彼女が本物の前衛であったからに他ならない。本盤はPlastic Ono Bandも最高の演奏だしJohnのギターも”Arto Lindsay”さながらにキレている。

Dubは麻薬だ。中でもOn-U Sound製はヘロイン並に多幸感と中毒性が高い。"The Pop Group - 1st" のDub初体験は吸引程度だったが"Mark Stewart + Maffia - Learning To Cope With Cowardice" でOn-Uをドープして以来、彼是30年も常用なう。其れに比べると本盤はLee Perry翁なので効果は草レベルだが、Sun Ra亡き後の数少ない御年75歳の"狂人"が創る音楽は全て素晴らしい。中でもA3は名曲。ちなみに"Panic In Babylon (2003)”収録の「VooDoo」は生涯の名曲。

ZE Recordsは最初から新しかった。"No New York"から抽出したエッセンスを、ジャズとラテンが渦巻くN.Y.のディスコに放り込んだ"Mutant Disco"で80's初頭を席巻。しかし、故今野雄二氏を始めとするナウい”業界”界隈でトレンドだった事がオレの目を曇らせた。さらに英Post Punkが猛スピードで枝分かれしていく様子を追うのに精一杯だったが、アンダーグランドさえも"Dance Music"に傾倒している状況は感じていた。1983年"Blue Monday"が簡単に時代を変えた頃、失速したZEは2年後に休止するが、2003年より再開し現在に至る。本盤は最初からDisco Classic。

彼らの3rd Albumで”Interstellar Overdrive”を聴いて興味を持ち出して以来、愛おしくて止まないバンド。解散後David Loweryは”Cracker”を結成するがオルタナの波にさらわれ、1999年にCVBを再結成し現在に至る。此れは3rd Album以降、Virgin Records Americaへ移る前にリリースした、Ringo StarrのB3を含むEP。黒く無いアメリカ音楽の全てを作曲の完成度と其の技術でテキトウにやってしまう妙が、此のEPだけでは伝わらないのが非常にもどかしい。”Status Quo”をカバーしたり、2003年には” Fleetwood Mac - Tusk”の完コピリリースなど興味は尽きなく、どのアルバムを聴いても頭は朦朧とし唾液が止まらないほどイイ曲多し。英でのリリースはRough Tradeから。

所有の盤はRough Trade(Rough 85)ではないが、当時、実に「らしい」アイルランドバンドの3枚目。デビューはCherry Redから予定されていたという。後に "Fatima Mansions", "High Llamas"となる。ほろ苦い夏の匂いがするジャケットに包まれた、ショートムービーの様な素晴らしい詩、10曲。

Derek Jarmanの "Jubilee (1977)" サントラ。A面はパンク。B面はEnoが入っていたりとバラバラ。パンク当時は粗いカラーコピーが蛍光色等と良くデザインに使用されていたが、同様の此のジャケットには、Vivienne Westwoodの"SEX boutique" で働き "Adam And The Ants" のマネージャーだった "Jordan"の写真が映画の衣装のまま使用されている。本盤にて"Suzi Pinns"名義でレゲエバージョン「統べよ、ブリタニア」を歌う彼女は、Johnny RottenやSiouxsie Siouxと共にパンク・アイコンだったのだが今はもう誰も知らない。Facebookで「イイね」は500人ほどだったｗ。Malcolm McLarenにバンドメンバー全員を引き抜かれたが（此れは後のBow Wow Wow）、ソロでバカ売れした"Adam Ant"はどうでもいいが、本編が役者デビューの此頃は、若かりし矢沢の様で酷く格好良いｗ。レアなデビュー前のスジバンが映る本編カットを発見したので、以前ブログでアップした本盤からのシングルと併せてリンクしておく。
