Crepusculeは、独自の雰囲気を持つその音とジャケットでレーベルカラーの輪郭が明確にあったが、Cherry Redはバラエティに富んだ音とクオリティに格差のあるジャケットが、それはそれでまた良かった。当時のオレにとって「El」は、スノッブで渋谷系（死語）な佇まいが嫌で、所有しているアナログは数枚のみ。B2辺りは完全にギャグだが、20年経って改めて聴いて、不覚にもイイと感じたのはオレの許容量の問題もあるが、スノッブさは否めない。やはり、そういう事だろう。まあナンダカンダ言って学ぶところは多く最近愛聴している。

1971年Dennis Hopper監督作品「The Last Movie」の制作ドキュメンタリーのサントラ。10数年前に偶然発見、Gene Clarkと付属のポスターで購入決定。この映画は未見だが「The Last Movie」が好きだ。いわゆるメタ映画だが、実際の現場またはHopper自信同様に酒と麻薬に溺れながら、現実と幻の狭間で「映画の為の映画を撮る」という行為が最高にアナーキックである。音は渋めカントリー。

ジャケットはメルツバウさながらの散らかった部屋の写真。左上には鎌と槌にタンポンが。後に洗練されていくが、この時点でGreen Gartside はこのジャケットさながらに混乱そのものである。同時に複数台の音響機器から異なった音楽が流れているようなこのEPは、17歳のオレそのものであり現在のオレもまた同様である。最近リリースされたアルバムを聴くと、Green よオマエもか。
