マトリックス番号の刻印具合から、恐らく日本製であろうブートレグ3枚組。10数年ほど前に此れを見つけた時はチョット興奮した記憶あり。すべてライン録音では無いが、Side A〜CがJohn Foxx時代で生々しい音で比較的イイ録音。惜しむらくは大きな傷のためB3: Quiet Menに針飛びあり。Side D〜FはMidge Ure時代のライヴで、デカイ会場のせいか音質悪し。ただし「Vienna」リリース頃なのでJohn Foxx時代の曲を多く演っているのが興味深いし、Midge Ureの苛立ちがハッキリと伺える。アンコールラストは半ばヤケクソ感のあるEnoの曲。

1975年結成から間もなく録音されたスタジオレコーディング。語られる事が少ないがデビューはピストルズと同年。従ってAfter PunkやPost Punkでは無く間違いなくPunkであるという事実も、其の後彼らがポピュラーミュージック（＝ロック）と其れによるコミュニケーションまでも変革した事実と比べるとさして重要では無い。

ジャケットには何処にも”The Slits”と表記は無いが、直ぐ其れと判るタイトルとイラスト。初期の彼女等はPunk Bandだったが、此の盤は中期〜後期のDub Style。正確な録音の年度は不明だが、彼女等のLive Recordingモノとしては音は良く（ただしA2に針飛び有り）、さらに演奏も安定しているという珍しい内容。おなじみの名曲B1も良い。

ラベルには「J.D."WARSAW"」とだけ表記のBootlegだが、1978年にRCAからのデビューを前提に行われた全録音である。1999年リリースの4枚組Box「Heart And Soul」に表記の全レコーディングリストにより確認済み。David Bowieファンで以前はWarsawだった彼らが、もしRCAからリリースされていたらMartin Hannettによるプロデュースワークも、Peter Savilleのスリーヴデザインも知る事はなかっただろう。ここでの音は勿論1stのイメージは皆無で、前につんのめる剥き出しの理想と覚めた勢いが感じられて興味深いのだが、「Unknown Pleasures」こそがベストなオレはMartin Hannettの凄さを再確認せざるを得ないのだ。
